The Story…

Far in the future, Men, Elves and Half Elves live together, in a precariously balanced harmony. Though just because the war has been over for more than 200 years does not mean the battles are not still raging. Deru Cria, an animal empath, is one life that is caught in a racial-crossfire; although Human and Elf relations are somewhat accepted, birthing Half Elves is something neither side likes. Deru is a young Half-Elf living alone, just outside the world’s Eutopia, Sephoria City. Though strong and smart, at her school, she lies low, not to draw attention to herself. Most Half Elves in this future are despised as weak and a weak blood, Deru is hated no differently, and she has locked her heart away, unable to connect with others, and is thus, alone with her animal companions.

That changed the day she met Susanne Soli, a polite Elf girl, one who just wouldn’t leave her alone! Unsure of how to go about this new found friendship, Deru agrees to try and work it out.

As the story progresses, our two heroines realize there is much more behind their meeting than they know, and will soon find out why they were destined to meet, and what lies ahead on the many paths before them.

Welcome to a world of fantasy and science, where the world is at peace, for now. But this world is broken, losing it’s touch with the other Realms. It’s up to Deru to find out the meaning of her and her friends pasts, and what is the connection between them, and why it lies in the importance of both their lives and lives of everyone in all of their current existence!

About Triune

I started working on a concept comic all the way back in 2004 after I had a special trip to the Art Institute in Portland Oregon. I had many ideas, but this one stuck out as something I could really get into. At first, I liked the way I was doing things, but it wasn’t until I picked up a book about how to make web comics (see links) that I decided to redo the entire thing; story, characters, design, everything. Originally it was dubbed “Dez The Lonely Half-Elf” until I changed it to “Perfect Grey” then changed it yet again to “Triune” after another major character design and story shift. Dez was Deru’s original name, if anyone was asking. I know you were.

Triune Mediums

Triune has gone back and forth, between pencils and pens, to Photoshop, and back. The comic is now done in Pencil, inked with Staedler pens, and scanned into Photoshop to complete the process.

Update: After thinking about it for a long time, the older pages are being cleaned up and colored, and pages that were done in grey scale, will now be colored as well.3
