The Story…

Far in the future, Man, Elves and Half Elves live together, although there are dividing lines between them.  Deru Cria is one of those lives caught in the crossfire.  She is a young Half-Elf living alone in a very scary world, so she must keep her wits about her.  Most Half Elves in this future are despised as weak and a weak blood, Deru is hated no differently, and she has locked her heart away.

That changed the day she met Susanne Soli, a polite Elf girl with a smile that outshines the sun.  Unsure of how to go about this new found friendship, Deru agrees to try and work it out. But there is more going behind the scenes than this dynamic duo, for now, know about.

About Triune

I started working on a concept comic all the way back in 2004 after I had a special trip to the Art Institute in Portland Oregon.  I had many ideas, but this one stuck out as something I could really get into.  At first, I liked the way I was doing things, but it wasn’t until I picked up a book about how to make web comics (see links) that I decided to redo the entire thing; story, characters, design, everything.  The original was dubbed ‘Perfect Grey’ a name that I just kind of came up with.  I’ve always been about having meaning in the things I write, so I came up with Triune.

There is a meaning behind the name, but I can’t say, because, well, that would ruin the story now wouldn’t it?

Triune Mediums

Triune is done using a pencil through the final sketch, inking using Staedler markers, and then, depending on the page, coloring using cel shading techniques in Photoshop CS3 Extended.
